Review: 9a/9b-Class trip 2024 to the south of England

Neuigkeiten

From August 25th to August 31st 2024 classes 9a/9b went on a language trip to England.

The bus company Tütjer was responsible for driving us to our destination.

There we were accommodated at local host families in a town called Eastbourne. After an exhausting 21-hour bus ride we arrived at our destination. Our experience began with 3 hours of language school with Pauline, Zeff and Colin, our 3 new language teachers, where we learned more about the English school life. Then we set off onto the road to the breathtaking cliffs not far from Eastbourne, called Beachy Head. There we hiked along the coast to a nearby lighthouse. At the end of the day we were allowed to explore the town freely without any teachers.

The next day began again with 3 eventful hours of language school. After one hour of lunchbreak, we were driven to the medieval Battle Abbey, where we had to complete a work assignment related to a tour of the abbey and battlefield. Later that day we visited the nearby town of Hastings. There we had much freetime and could either walk through the beautiful town centre or along the coastline.

The next morning the language school started again as usual, followed by a visit to one of the most beautiful cities of England, Brighton. There we were able to pursue our own interests all day and even had the opportunity to go swimming at the end of the day.

On the last day of our class trip there was still one city, we needed to visit: London. The stay, which allowed us to visit sights such as the Clock Tower of Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and many other well-known sights, was incredibly informative and attractive. Further we had a lot of freetime there, which we could use to roam the streets of the metropolis.

But unfortunately you have to stop when things are at their best, so the ninth grade class trip ended with a great trip to one of the largest cities of Europe that we won´t forget that soon.

In the evening we went by coach to Dover to take the next ferry to Calais and the next day we reached Sondershausen after a relatively long but safe ride.
